The Warrior's Way is a 2010 fantasy action film starring South Korean actor Jang Dong-gun as well as Kate Bosworth, Geoffrey Rush, Danny Huston and Tony Cox. It was written and directed by Sngmoo Lee, and produced by Barrie Osborne, who also produced Lord of the Rings.

The spaghetti Western is revived as a ramen noodle Western with the wild, wacky “The Warrior’s Way,” a genre mash-up that never quite achieves so-very-bad-it’s-good status.

It’s Cowboys vs. Ninjas in this fantastical exercise in martial arts magical un-realism.

But Korean swordsman Jang Dong-Gun has a simmering charisma and a great hairstylist. And the thing is played for laughs, or was edited for laughs after the studio realized what writer-director Sngmoo Lee had delivered.

Jang plays an assassin who has all but wiped out a rival clan. Then a cute baby stops him in his tracks. He saves it and flees to the West — the Old West — to hide.

He ends up in Lode, “The Paris of the West,” essentially the dusty leftover sets from “Book of Eli,” augmented by more green-screen landscapes than “300” and “Sin City” put together. Our assassin ends up running — wait for it — a Chinese laundry.

Plot: The story is a few warrior named Yang (Jang Dong-gun), who is pressured to hide in a small town within the American badlands. He meets the town drunk (Geoffrey Rush) and a circus knife thrower (Kate Bosworth), both of whom have powerful secrets. After a lifetime of coaching in martial arts and swordsmanship, Yang (Jang Dong Gun) has eradicated all but considered one of his clan's enemies-an toddler whose smile instantly melts his heart. Unwilling to kill her and unable defend her from his own deadly tribe, Yang takes the infant lady and flees, planning to hunt refuge with an old good friend living in Lode, a frontier city in the American West. He arrives to seek out that his buddy has died and the once-thriving Gold Rush town is in shambles, inhabited solely by a number of dozen eccentrics together with Lynne (Kate Bosworth), a ravishing, spirited knife thrower-in-coaching, and Ron, a worn-out drunk (Geoffrey Rush).

As a way to make a protected house for the kid far from the reach of his murderous clansman, Yang decides to stay on because the city's new laundryman, sealing his sword for good. Yang unexpectedly finds a kindred spirit in Lynne. Orphaned by a horrifying act of brutality, Lynne has spent ten years plotting revenge in opposition to her attacker, the Colonel (Danny Huston). Whereas teaching Yang to run the laundry and look after the baby, she discovers his expertise for swordplay and begs him to tutor her in martial arts. Within the midst of Lode's annual Christmas celebration, the Colonel and his renegade gang return and threaten to destroy the town. Figuring out that Lynne will do everything in her energy to actual revenge on the Colonel, Yang reluctantly unsheathes his sword, totally aware that the ring of its blade will instantly reveal his location to his personal murderous pack. He leads a fierce and ingenious drive of townspeople armed only with improvised weapons and a novel set of skills in an all-out battle. But, as he feared, the sound of his sword brings the ruthless attackers into the fray, main Yang, Lynne, April and the town folks to their ultimate destinies.
