The Next Three Days is a 2010 thriller film directed by Paul Haggis and starring Russell Crowe and Elizabeth Banks. It was released in the United States on November 19, 2010. It was filmed on location in Pittsburgh. It is a remake of the 2007 French film Pour Elle (Anything for Her) by Fred Cavayé.



Lara Brennan (Elizabeth Banks) is accused of murder even though she is innocent. This affects the relationship between her and her professor husband John Brennan (Russell Crowe) and their son George, who takes extreme actions in an attempt to free her from prison.
In order to save his wife from prison, the John consults Damon Pennington (Liam Neeson), a hardened criminal who has successfully escaped from prison many times, and who has even written a book about the art of escaping from prisons. Damon becomes the mentor of the husband, and encourages him to study the prison because "any prison has a key".
